Professor Debjit Roy

Prof. Roy, with a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering and an MS in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, chairs the research and publications office at IIM Ahmedabad and co-founded the Centre for Transportation and Logistics. He authored the first book on Trucking Business Management by McGraw-Hill in 2016. Notably, in 2020, he was awarded the Inside IIM Best Professor of the Year and elected as the chair of the Facility Logistic SIG, Transportation Science and Logistics INFORMS Society.

This 6-to-8-month IIM supply chain management course has been divided into 19 relevant functional areas of the supply chain and logistics management viz-a-viz supply chain analytics and finance, procurement, supplier and inventory management, coordination, and logistics (transport and warehouse management). In addition, the programme will impart knowledge of supply chain sustainability and simulation and keep the students up-to-date on technological advancements like Blockchain technology and Industry 4.0 in Supply Chain. It helps participants develop business strategies by integrating supply chain management with strategic operations and preparing them to create coordinated supply chain and logistics networks.
For this programme, candidates should be graduates in any discipline with 50% or equivalent score in the highest qualification. It is also recommended that the applicants should have at least two years of work experience in operations at the senior, middle, and junior managerial levels or as entrepreneurs. Please note that the selections will be based on evaluating individual profiles and Statement of Purpose (SoP).
IIM Ahmedabad has a well-defined pedagogy that the institute follows for its Executive Programmes. It is based on the principles of active learning so that participants can emerge as leaders with confidence and competence. EPSCLM starts with a solid theoretical foundation to equip the participants with essential knowledge about the various subjects, followed by hands-on learning through case discussions, exercises, presentations and role play.
Participants will attend live online lectures at VCNow centers all over india. Plus, participants are given the opportunity to visit the IIM Ahmedabad campus and learn from the ground up through an intensive 4 days of campus immersion spread over 2 visits. Live online sessions are scheduled every Sunday, 10 AM to 1 PM IST, considering working professionals' busy schedules.
